Last two days were a lot for Ruhani. She got to perform among some of the most influential people in the country. Her phone was ringing like crazy ever since she came back and her social media followers were drastically increasing.
She didn't posted the whole performance on her youtube channel but some clips here and there which she titled "I performed at a Billionaire's Birthday party" & "The Maya Oberoi". Her clip of flirting with Maya got crazy ass viral on Instagram and Aliya had called her earlier to tell her how Maya was tired of recieving calls and texts about the same.
Ruhani didn't know much about their family but from whatever she saw and learned, Maya Oberoi's arrival was already a topic of lots of discussions and debates. She heard almost everyone she passed by talking and gossiping about Maya & this video of hers was like a cherry on top for them. Social media's audience and viewers were surely curious and instigated by these clips. Not a large amount of ordinary population knew or heard about them but after the so called clips went viral,Browser search for THE OBEROI's surely went up.
Ruhani made sure to hide all the shots and cuts which included Alina to make sure her identity stayed protected. But for Maya and Aliya,the case wasn't the same. Aliya told her how her insta id which was private,was now blown up with hundreds of friend requests and her DM's were filled with messages like "Hi Deer" & "send ur saxy pics bby".
After her performance ended that night,she got off stage and Aliya embraced her into a tight hug. Aliya's friends were way kinder now and surely quite a lot of men and women approached her. None of them were Alina Oberoi so it didn't matter but the fact people nonetheless approached her made her feel confident and even pretty.
Aliya's sister Maya passed her a smile which was more of a smirk and it made Ruhani shy and nervous for some reason. These Oberoi sisters had a thing for Intimidating people. But her smile wasn't a mockery,it was kind,Gentle and comfortable. As if she knew who Ruhani was. Both Maya and her fiancee walked up to her,what was his name again,The fiancee? Leave it. Nevertheless, The couple in front of her was smoking Hot which caused Ruhani trouble in deciding,whom to check out more.

"You were amazing and Hilarious out there, Ruhani...Nice to meet you" Maya extended her hand and spoke with a smile which radiated nothing but kindness
"Thankyou Ma'am and I'm honoured to meet you but how..how do you know my name?" Ruhani gladly took her hand and frowned her eyebrows afterwards
"You introduced yourself earlier on stage,didn't you?" Maya tilted her head a bit
"Ya Maybe I -" Ruhani spoke but rather got cut
"And call me Maya" The older woman said
"Ya ohkay..I..will"
"Do you want a drink?" The fiancee asked
Ruhani chuckled a bit " I don't drink sir"
"Drop the formalities,Will you? Call me Vi..." As he was about to complete his sentence,someone called for them
That's right,he never told his name.
Both of them were about to turn when Maya suddenly held Ruhani's hand.
"Uhm Thankyou Ruhani...for" Maya met Ruhani's eyes and Ruhani could tell she wanted to say something.
"For what..Maya?" Ruhani asked in a low voice
Maya glanced at someone in the room but Ruhani couldn't catch who it was. "Just for you know...being so kind to my sisters and.."
"You'll know soon enough" The fiancee spoke before taking Maya away with him,passing a smile through his pearly white teeths

Ruhani was reminiscing on the events of that night when it striked her memory again. She brought her head into her hands and could feel her heart beating against the walls of her chest just by thinking about it. She could feel her eyes on the brink of tearing up again.
She didn't wanted to feed her delusions anymore and accepted it without a doubt that whatever she felt for Alina wasn't just a Teenage crush.
Day before yesterday,that night at the party..she saw Alina crying. It hitched her breath then and there. That impeccably hot and confident woman who always had her guard up and could make anyone piss their pants just by a minor stare was bawling her eyes out. It made Ruhani's heart ache beyond her imagination. She mustered some strength and walked up to her. It took her some good seconds to move her hand and tap on her shoulders.
As soon as Alina moved to face her,her puffy red eyes met hers. Eventhough her face was red, That angelic woman wasn't looking any less pretty. Ruhani couldn't make much of her surroundings when Alina brought her into a hug.
ALINA FREAKING OBEROI hugged Ruhani. Pretty sure Alina wasn't in her right state of mind and just wanted someone to lean on but for Ruhani it was beyond Magical. For next few seconds,she was just standing there frozen,not able to accept reality. Alina's perfume lingered on her and her grip tightened on Ruhani by the minute and that's when Ruhani snapped back to reality. Her eyes became glisery and in that moment,that exact moment she wanted the world around her to stop moving. Everything was just perfect. She wanted to embrace Alina,wanted to tell her that 'everything's going to be okay'. She wanted to run her hands through her hair and wanted to wipe those tears away from tip of her thumb. But rather she stood there frozen. Not because she wanted to. But beacuse she just couldn't.
WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF ZOYA HAD COME TO KNOW?
She felt guilty beyond words when to top her embarrassment she had to introduce Alina to Zoya. Zoya was her past,her biggest insecurity,her biggest curse. And she surely had something to do with Alina. Eventhough Ruhani was forced to spend two years of her life with zoya,she knew nothing about her. Nothing about Zoya's family,her surname,her friends..nothing at all. Zoya had Ruhani dancing around her finger for two whole years when one day she lost interest in her and found her next playtoy. Surely enough she slept with other men and women when she was with Ruhani,it's just Ruhani was a toy like something she never saw before.
And here's the thing,she never had sex with Ruhani. She utterly disrespected her,thrashed her and made her filth upon herself. She used phrases like "who's gonna sleep with an ugly shit like you" and yet used her to run her errands. Those two years of her life were trauma of a lifetime for her. But you know why Ruhani never left her? Cause Ruhani had no one. No friends,No one to love her,no one to acknowledge her. Her family was going through a lot when she came across zoya in search of arms that would protect her but rather those arms always suffocated her.
When Ruhani came to a realization that Zoya was nothing more than her first kiss,it was already too late. Things were already too toxic and Zoya held power and money like no one else. She always threatened to hurt her parents,kidnap her family and expose her sexuality to them which left her scared and trembling. For a middle class girl who wasn't able to meet her basic needs and already had a lot on her plate complied without a fight. Luckily her suffering came to an end when zoya piqued her interest in someone else. THAT POOR SOUL.
It was good eight months without Zoya when she met her again at The Oberoi's success party. The same night when she found out that there was more to her English professor's identity. Zoya cornered her that night and their encounter that night resulted in Ruhani's pitiful cries. Not wanting to remember what Zoya said to her,she could clearly pinpoint that all her threats were regarding Alina.
After that night,Zoya never approached or texted her again but as soon as Ruhani landed in the same room as Alina and zoya both,Zoya cornered her. She didn't said anything in particular,she just held her hand not letting her go. Ruhani knew she had no power over her and just stood there animatedly. What triggered Ruhani the most was that Zoya took them to all the directions where Alina was standing.
DID SHE WANTED ALINA TO SEE THEM TOGETHER?
As soon as Zoya saw Alina,corner of her lips twitched upward in a smirk. WHY DID SHE DO THAT? When Alina eyed between Zoya and her, Ruhani felt her heart sinking. She wanted to scream on top her lungs that it wasn't what Alina was thinking it was. Ruhani didn't know what prior motives Zoya held towards Alina,But whatever they were Ruhani didn't wanted her to win.
When it came to Alina,Ruhani could fight the whole world for her. It didn't mattered if her homophobic parents came to know of her sexuality,if it resulted into her getting hurt,if it...But. Who was Alina to her? Or more like who was she to Alina? On what basis was she going to defend her or how was she going to prove that Zoya had any ulterior motives. Why would it matter to Alina at all? Pretty sure many shits like Zoya were against her tail and that amazing woman surely knew how to shoo them away.
But why would it matter to Alina if Ruhani created her distance from her or Why would it matter to her if Ruhani was getting hurt in the process?
